More than 160 Customized 10" D.I.Y. Bart Simpson Qees by Artists and Designers from across the globe in celebration of THE SIMPSONS arrive in Itlay for the next stop of the BART QEE Worldwide Tour .
Mark Fairwhale hosts the January China 1st stop of the D.I.Y. Qee Project: BART tour presented by TOY2R and ID2R. TOY2R, ID2R and Mark Fairwhale have assembled a virtual "who's who" list of today's hottest
pop culture artists, designers and illustrators from around the world. Each original figure has been painted, sculpted, and customized to illustrate each artist's own unique re-interpretation of the iconic character, Bart Simpson, using as a blank canvas the 10" D.I.Y. Bart Simpson Blank Platform Qee Figure. Many of these artists have either grown up watching THE SIMPSONS or were inspired by its creativity, humor or sardonic look at life. To bring these original creations to the fans, TOY2R and Diamond Comics launched this worldwide art gallery tour stopping at respected galleries and art boutiques across the globe. It is time we show China the various Art Toy designs from around the World; being the First international Bart Art Show - China will definately add its power and talent to this original and creative display of art!
The re-interpretation of Bart Simpson, the classic animated icon created by Matt Groening almost 20 years ago, not only celebrates the first feature length film based on THE SIMPSONS, which has grossed more than $500 million in worldwide box office receipts, but also marks the launch of the licensed line of Qee figures based on THE SIMPSONS characters.
The Bart Simpson Qee tour has already been to LA, New York, Paris, Florence, Rome and London. The D.I.Y. Qee Project will continue with an additional show in China! The show will finally end in
Guangzhou on March 2008. At the end of the tour, a majority of the customized figures will be auctioned off and all of the proceeds will go to charity.
